About Baozhong Tea

Baozhong tea is the least oxidized type of oolong tea, best enjoyed in its current season. It is typically made from the Soft Stem Oolong or Qingxin Damao cultivar. The tea leaves are twisted into strips with a rich surface texture and a refreshing fragrance. During withering, the waxy coating on the leaf surface gradually fades. The stems are rich in amino acids, giving the liquor a natural sweetness and enhancing its steeping endurance. Due to its low oxidation, saponins often emerge during brewing.

The Wenshan region has a cool climate with significant day-night temperature differences, imparting a distinctive shan tou qi (mountain essence) to its Baozhong tea.
