
夏 至 碎 片 The Fragments of Summer Solstice 2024
The summer solstice is the day with the longest daylight and the shortest night of the year. It is my favorite day of the year.
The late sunsets of the summer solstice evenings give the illusion that the day will never end. I try to capture this special day through lines and colors, hoping each piece can become a poetic depiction of summer.
For me, the summer solstice is not just a season; it also symbolizes an endless party. This collection of works not only celebrates summer but also records those small, precious moments in life. I hope viewers can find their own summer memories in them.
Most of the pieces in this collection employ two techniques. One is the marbling technique I frequently use, which involves mixing clays of different colors to create unique ceramic decorations. Through complex steps like layering and polishing, various colors of clay are intertwined, resulting in unique patterns that make each piece irreplicable.
The second technique involves adding pigment particles of different sizes to the slip, allowing these color spots to adhere to the clay body, creating an image reminiscent of a pond. This evokes the reflections, moss, and light spots in a pond during the summer solstice.
夏至是一年中,白晝最常、黑夜最短的一天。是一年中我最喜歡的一天。
夏至的傍晚、遲來的日落,給人一種今天不會結束的錯覺。我試圖透過線條和色來彩臨摹這個特別的一天,希望讓每一件作品能夠成為描繪夏日的詩。
對我來說,夏至不僅只是一個時節,它同時也象徵著一場永無止盡的派對。此次的作品不僅是對夏日的讚美,更是對生活中那些微小而珍貴的時刻的紀錄,希望觀者也可以從中找到屬於自己的夏日記憶。
大部份的作品使用了兩個技法,一個是我以往慣用的絞胎技法,絞胎是一種透過混合不同顏色的土胎進行製作的陶藝裝飾技巧。這種技法經由堆疊、打磨等複雜步驟,融合了各種顏色的土,交織出特別的紋理,讓每一件作品都擁有它的不可複製性。
第二種技法是在化妝土漿中加入不同尺寸的色粉顆粒,使這些色塊能夠附著在胎體上,營造出池塘般的意像,就像夏至時的池塘裡的倒影、青苔和光斑的景象。
