About Chia Ying Wu
Chia Ying Wu is a ceramic artist based in Taipei. Her work explores the quiet relationship between function, ritual, and the rhythms of everyday life.
At the age of 16, she first encountered clay at SSVS vocational high school, where she also studied metalwork, woodworking, and textiles. The direct, tactile dialogue between hand and material captivated her deeply.
Later, she continued her studies at the National Taiwan University of Arts, where she learned ceramics through the lenses of technique, science, and design, building a strong foundation for her creative practice.
Her work focuses on teaware and vessels - objects that are closest to daily life.
She observes how the curve of a bowl fits the palm, and how the lip of a cup influences the flow of tea. Through repeated practice, she searches for balance between control and chance, the handmade and the industrial.
Her pieces speak through subtlety and restraint, turning the traces of time into warmth, allowing users to experience a quiet sense of connection.
吳家瑩是一位定居於台北的陶藝家,作品探索「功能、儀式與日常節奏」之間的關係。
十六歲時,她在職校松山家商首次接觸陶土,學習金工、木工與織品等多種工藝,那種直接
以手與材料對話的真實感,使她深深著迷。之後,她就讀於國立臺灣藝術大學,從技術、藝術、設計三個層面學習陶藝,建立了扎實的創作基礎。
她的創作以最貼近日常物件的餐具與器皿為核心。她觀察碗的弧度如何貼合手掌,杯緣如何影響茶湯的流動。透過反覆地練習,她在「控制與偶然」、「手作與工業」之間尋找平衡。
她的作品以細膩與節制為語言,將時間的痕跡化為溫度,讓使用者在其中感受一種靜默的連結。


About Studio Florero
Studio Florero brings together ceramics, tea, and everyday aesthetics, exploring the relationship between objects and people, between function and emotion.
The name Florero comes from the Mandarin word huā píng (花瓶), which is sometimes used to describe something — or someone, often women — considered decorative but lacking practical use.
Yet a vase, in itself, is a functional object: it holds, it contains, it gives form to what is beautiful.
This quiet contradiction reflects the studio’s belief that decoration is not excess, but a gentle reminder of presence.
Guided by a philosophy of simplicity and attentiveness, the studio creates tableware and tea ware that are calm yet strong, naturally blending into the small rituals of daily life.
Each piece is made through throwing, hand-building, or slip-casting, balancing technical precision with the warmth of handmade work.
For Studio Florero, a vessel is more than an object — it is a way of living, an awareness of beauty and presence found in slowness and focus.
花瓶工作室,融合陶藝、茶與日常美學,探索物與人、功能與情感之間的關係。
品牌的名稱取自「花瓶」一詞——在中文裡,它常被用來形容只具外表而無實用的事物。然而,為平凡的物件注入美感,或為美尋找實用的理由,都不是品牌的目的。
Studio Florero 相信,裝飾本身就是一種存在的價值;妝點的行為,是對生活的關照。
秉持「簡單與細心」的創作哲學,花瓶工作室製作靜默而有力量的餐具與茶器,讓它們自然融入生活的儀式之中。
每件作品皆透過拉坯、手捏或注漿完成,兼具工藝的精準與手作的溫度。
